It is permissible for staff employed by a household to dictate the activity that employs them during a census or other survey, even if the employee is a self-employed person. The products and services produced by these activities are consumed by the employer household.

- household with a domestic worker providing housing and domestic assistance for everyday life

- services (eg cooking, gardening, etc.) provided by an independent economic organization (eg enterprise, sole proprietor) to be classified in a sector appropriate to the nature of the service

The activity performed by the household can be included here only if it is impossible to determine the primary subsistence and self-sufficient activity of the household. In the case of a household engaged in business activities, it is to be classified according to its main business activity.
