Wholesale is the resale of new and used items (without conversion) to retailers; industrial, commercial, public or professional users or other wholesalers, or (as an individual, business) acting as an agent or broker in the purchase or sale of goods.
Businesses engaged in such transactions include wholesalers, industrial distributors, exporters, importers, purchasing associations and sales offices (where there is no retail trade) maintained by manufacturing or mining units for the marketing of their products, which are authorized to distribute goods, they do not merely take orders to be fulfilled by direct delivery from the manufacturing or mining unit. These include commodity brokers, agents and agents, and sourcing and sales associations for the marketing of agricultural products.
Wholesale trade includes the usual activities carried out in the context of wholesale sales, such as the purchase, sorting and classification of goods in large batches, the repackaging of bulk goods and their distribution in smaller packages (eg in the case of medicines); warehousing, refrigeration, delivery, commissioning of goods, participation in sales promotion, label design.
